2021 Leadership Award Winner: Zambrano Family of Grupo Proeza

The John L. Ward Center for Family Enterprises is proud to announce the Zambrano family of Grupo Proeza as the recipient of the 2021 Family Leadership Award. The award was presented to the Zambrano family at a ceremony on October 6, 2021.

The Family Leadership Award recognizes unique contributions of exemplary family enterprise leaders that inspire a new generation of leaders in both family and non-family businesses worldwide.

The Zambrano family exemplifies the values, vision, familial and organizational effectiveness, and stewardship capabilities that Kellogg strives to promote throughout its educational initiatives globally. The Zambrano family have a strong commitment to next generation development and educating other families.

The origins of Grupo Proeza begin with Don Guillermo Zambrano, who launched the company that would become Proeza in Monterrey, Mexico. Metalsa, founded as Manufacturas Metalicas Monterrey, began manufacturing steel products for the construction industry in 1956.

Over the decades, the business grew through expansion across products and geographies. Today, Grupo Proeza comprises of 4 business units including Metalsa, Zano, Astrum and Proeza Ventures.

Grupo Proeza has a presence in North and South America and Asia, operating in 7 countries and employing more than 10,000 people globally.
